See Jesus Workshop: Bethesda is designed to transform special needs small group ministry and renew your love for Jesus by training you to lead adapted interactive Bible studies. Develop your study-leading skills while you deepen your love for Jesus and Scripture.

This workshop is set up like a small group where everyone is an involved learner. If you'd prefer not to lead a lesson, you can sign up as a participant. For this workshop, we will be using lessons from the Compassion unit of the Bethesda study based on the Person of Jesus.

Join with Bethesda trainers to dive deep into key methods of leading adapted interactive Bible studies all while seeing and enjoying Jesus!

$54 for Trainees (includes Bethesda Leader’s Manual)

$19 for Participants

Workshop Prep Session: November 5, 2020 1:30-4:30 PM ET (Trainees only).

Trainees will be assigned the lesson they will lead a week in advance of the workshop. They should read through their lesson three times prior to the workshop prep session.

Trainees will observe a Bethesda trainer leading a lesson and go over essentials of leading an interactive study. After that, trainees will meet with a trainer and other trainees leading the same lesson. Each trainee will teach through a portion of his or her lesson, with the trainer interrupting as needed to give helpful suggestions or clarifications.

Workshop Sessions:

November 12, 2020 1:30-4:30 PM ET (Trainees and Participants)

November 19, 2020 1:30-4:30 PM ET (Trainees and Participants)

Trainees teach their lessons straight through for 40 minutes to a small group with spiritual reflection and evaluation after each lesson.

Meet Felicia Grandinette
Bethesda Associate Director

Felicia Grandinette completed three years of study in Special Education before starting her family. When she returned to the classroom eighteen years later, the world of education had changed—and so had Felicia. She finished her degree in Adult and Organizational Development, unsure of where the Lord was leading.

As she had done for years, Felicia continued to serve in her church’s disability ministry—never dreaming it would lead to her vocation. As she reflects on her journey to Bethesda, Felicia explains, “Now I feel that I am exactly where God has called me to be.”

Felicia has led or spoken at youth retreats, women’s events, and a wide variety of disability ministry trainings. She treasures each opportunity to speak on behalf of those with special needs. “Knowing we are a part of bringing people to God who have been forgotten, marginalized, and shunned is surely a blessing,” she reflects. Felicia and her husband Brian have five children, one granddaughter, and live in Perkasie, PA, where they are known for their bountiful summer garden and luminous winter Christmas lights.

Describe the See Jesus Workshop experience. It is like sitting at Jesus' feet for five hours! Each study is centered on rediscovering the person of Jesus and the gospel. People really do see Jesus and are amazed.

What do people get out of it? Love for Jesus expands; it is worship! People want to pass it on, and the training helps to encourage and empower them.

"You can’t prepare and conduct one of these studies without being deeply moved because of the depth of the material.  As I have looked upon Jesus, learned to love him more, and tried to become like him, I’ve been moved as much or more than the people in my group."

Steve Wilson, Small Group Leader

"I love this material because it is like Jesus; it is upside-down. It values the participant. That is especially unique and just written into the material."

Gretchen Sweet, Small Group Leader

"I love the detail in the stories and how you can study a story that you’ve known since you were a small child and get something new out of it every time.  You come away from the story feeling like you’re dealing with real people who struggle just like you do."

Debbie Chadler, Small Group Leader
