See Jesus Workshop (formerly Small Group Leader Training) is designed to transform small group ministry and renew your love for Jesus by training you to lead interactive Bible studies. Imagine being able to lead a Bible study with confidence with your small group or Sunday school or even at work or in your neighborhood!  You'll learn a new skill while you deepen your love for Jesus and Scripture. Join us for a day of wonder and encouragement as we discover together the beauty of Jesus!

How it works…

This seminar is set up like a small group where everyone is an involved learner. If you'd prefer not to lead a lesson, you can sign up as a participant. As our template, we use the Person of Jesus study.

Before the Seminar. Trainees will receive the lesson they will lead via email, a week in advance of the seminar. You will need to read through it three times prior to the seminar. See also Prerequisite, below.

Friday Evening 6-9pm. A seeJesus trainer will lead a lesson and go over essentials of leading an interactive Bible study.Trainees leading the same lesson will meet in a group with a trainer and get "focused feedback" as they teach through a portion of their lesson, being interrupted throughout the lesson.

Saturday All Day 8am-3pm. Each trainee teaches his lesson straight through for 40 minutes to a small group of 5-8 people, with spiritual reflection and evaluation after each lesson.

Note: People may register as participants and not lead a lesson. Participants are encouraged to interact in the group to get a feel for our training and to be encouraged to participate in future trainings.

Prerequisite: Trainees must have either attended a small group using seeJesus materials, or watched a lesson taught online. (Two lessons are available on Vimeo: "Grace for a Broken Woman" or "The Widow of Nain"There is no prerequisite for participants.

Trainees teaching a lesson must register by Thursday, September 6.

Meet Maggie Snyder
Training Coordinator

With a law degree from Cornell University, you might expect to find Maggie Snyder holding forth before a court of law. But Maggie, who rests in the fact that Jesus fulfills the perfect law of God, now spends her time pointing people to him. As a seeJesus trainer, Maggie is passionate about leading people deeper into the life of Jesus and seeing them excited and challenged as they learn more about Him and about themselves.

Maggie, who has led or helped to lead women’s Bible studies for over twenty years, views each seeJesus seminar as an opportunity to worship alongside fellow believers. She’s excited to be part of what God is doing through seeJesus to get the words of life and light into people around the globe. Maggie and her husband, Mike, have three grown children and five grandchildren and have recently moved to the Philadelphia area from northern Virginia.

Describe the See Jesus Workshop experience. It is like sitting at Jesus' feet for five hours! Each study is centered on rediscovering the person of Jesus and the gospel. People really do see Jesus and are amazed.

What do people get out of it? Love for Jesus expands; it is worship! People want to pass it on, and the training helps to encourage and empower them.

"You can’t prepare and conduct one of these studies without being deeply moved because of the depth of the material.  As I have looked upon Jesus, learned to love him more, and tried to become like him, I’ve been moved as much or more than the people in my group."

Steve Wilson, Small Group Leader

"I love this material because it is like Jesus; it is upside-down. It values the participant. That is especially unique and just written into the material."

Gretchen Sweet, Small Group Leader

"I love the detail in the stories and how you can study a story that you’ve known since you were a small child and get something new out of it every time.  You come away from the story feeling like you’re dealing with real people who struggle just like you do."

Debbie Chadler, Small Group Leader
