A Praying Life Cohort - Youth Pastors

A Praying Life Cohort - Youth Pastors

Robert Row's Online Cohort
8-Week A Praying Life Cohort
Schedule
8 Weeks of 1-Hour Cohort Sessions, Starting May 14
Thursdays through July 2 1:30-2:30 PM EDT
The spirit of the age is a rushing current of autonomy.

What’s the message students hear? "You do life on you own." —Yet, Jesus says, “I do nothing on my own, I only do what I see my Father doing” (John 5:19). Jesus is childlike, he does life in dependence on his Father; primarily through prayer. seeJesus invites you to connect to, submit to, and be led by the Spirit in everyday life through prayer for the sake of your life and ministry. At seeJesus we believe childlike dependence through prayer is the lifeline student ministry leaders need in daily life.

Many of us pray badly, yet we long to connect with our Father.

If you struggle with keeping a consistent prayer life, we invite you to learn to pray in community through this 8-week cohort.

What is an online cohort?
In this highly personalized, 8-week prayer training specifically for men and women in youth ministry, you'll gather with an experienced prayer trainer and 7-8 other men and women on Zoom. Together, you'll build a set of 5 or more personal prayer cards that you’ll use to pray through key areas in your lives. Each week, you will experience the accountability and encouragement of praying together. As you see God at work in one another’s lives, you will grow in wisdom and faith.

What happens in a cohort meeting?
We learn to pray, and we pray. We learn through a book study, open discussions, and applying new ideas in our personal lives. Then we pray through five key areas in each of our lives and begin to watch, together, what God does. Seeing God at work in the lives of others encourages you to keep asking—even when you don’t yet see movement in your own prayer story.

Schedule
You'll meet one hour per week for eight weeks, starting Thursday, May 14.

There is a $99 fee for cohort participation. Space is limited!

Meet Robert Row
Student Ministries Coordinator

Robert Row admits that—despite 20 years of pastoral ministry to children, youth, and families—Jesus was once something of a distant superhero to him. “In 2014, the Lord awakened my heart to the humanity of Christ,” he explains, “and I set out to discover the real Jesus.” Robert’s explorations led him to seeJesus, where he now serves as Student Ministries Coordinator and helps others discover the person of Jesus. Robert loves practical jokes and adventures in the outdoors and was once chased by a moose while working at Yellowstone National Park. (Apparently, there are pictures). Robert and his wife, Rebecca, have five children, one of whom is now with Jesus, and live outside of Chattanooga, TN.

What Men Are Saying About Prayer Cohorts

I feel as though I've made some lifelong friends whom I could call upon at any time for prayer, but also for anything in life. The cohort is a must for any man who wants to fulfill the calling God has given him.

Bruce Goldsmith

The Praying Life cohort I participated in changed my life forever. It was helpful, life-giving, and encouraging as I learned I'm not alone in my struggle to pray. It helped me to not only grow in my desire to talk to God more, but also in my love for Him.

James Pavlic

Prayer is often the first thing sacrificed as we try to finish our daily to-do list. But prayer focuses our attention on our Heavenly Father who grants us the grace and strength that we daily need. And when we pray with other brothers, we see our Father working not only in our lives but in each other's lives.

Ruben Sernas

My prayer life had become anemic and perfunctory. It's been edifying and inspiring to be part of a group of men devoted to discover - or rediscover - the enriching and renewing practice of prayer.

Adam Spafford

The men’s prayer cohort has been a boot camp for my soul. Just like any other life skill, training and practice in prayer are critical to improvement... and this cohort has provided just what I needed.

Kevin Wing

This helped my feeling of isolation as I discovered I'm not the only one that struggles, gets tired, and fails. After weeks of praying with these men, they may be my closest friends.
