Overview

The Love Course is about Jesus. By watching Jesus we learn to love others in ways that are practical and life changing. The course pays particular attention to Jesus' emotions and the windows they are to His heart.

The Love Course is also about servanthood. The writer of Hebrews says this about Jesus: "Although He was a son, he learned obedience from what He suffered" (5:8 NIV). All of us suffer, but through The Love Course you will learn to let that suffering be a way of drawing you into the deeper joy of fellowship with your Father and those around you. As you taste this you will want nothing else in your life!

Some things you will learn in The Love Course:

  • How to love when there is no love in return--only withdrawal and anger.
  • How to love without being trapped or used by the other person.
  • How to love when your own problems seem overwhelming.
  • Intimacy is the goal of love.
  • The Cross is central to all loving.
  • Joy is the fruit of love.
  • How to achieve rest in love.
  • Hope allows us to endure in love.

Who Should Use The Love Course tapes?

  • Person of Jesus Study Leaders: Provides great background information and additional overview material. Many leaders have found it very helpful.
  • Tape Listeners: A great way to absorb the content of The Person of Jesus study and the theology behind it.

This set of tapes was taken from a live presentation of The Love Course. Here are some comments from a husband and wife that participated:

Wife: "He listens better to me…even seems to be enjoying that. He thinks of ways to help practically, like running to the store or taking the kids out."

Husband: "She's more forthright. Doesn't play quiet, snippy games; tells me what's on her mind. I really enjoy hearing about Bea's day. I don't react at Bea when she expresses her opinions. I don't throw the Bible verses at her."
